Dose/Effect Relationships
Delayed Effect and Distribution
Most of the ICP modules relate dose to plasma drug concentration. However in practice, the relationship between dose and drug effect is more important to the patient and healthcare provider. All drugs have a delay of effect in relation to plasma concentration. For some drugs there is a delay in effect as the drug accumulates at the site of action in the body.
Move the slider to see the relationships between Cp, Ce (concentration at effect site) and drug effect with different half-lives of drug elimination from the effect site which determine accumulation.
