Drug Clearance

New Conveyor Belt Model

The relation between maintenance dose-rate, drug clearance, drug elimination and plasma concentration is illustrated by the conveyor belt model.

Maintenance dose-rate is represented by density of red dots dropping onto the belt, drug elimination by density of dots being vacuumed up, and plasma concentration by the density of dots on the belt. Drug clearance is the size of the vacuum.

Adjust the dose and clearance and observe what happens to dot density (plasma concentration) on the belt.
